Japan Fest's Aim
For the 3rd consecutive year, we are delighted to bring Japan Fest back to Cromford! A celebration of Japanese culture set within the historic surroundings of Cromford Mills, this event is carefully curated by a passionate team dedicated to sharing a taste of Japan with visitors of all ages. Visitors can enjoy a wide selection of authentic food, unique traders, artisan crafts, cultural activities, and traditional experiences, creating a welcoming atmosphere where people can browse, shop, eat, and discover the many facets of Japanese culture. Our aim is to both support and celebrate the Japanese community while providing an accessible and enjoyable way for people to experience a culture that many would otherwise have little opportunity to engage with.

By Car
Cromford Mills is located just off the A6, around 16–17 miles north of Derby and approximately 20 minutes from the M1. Use DE4 3RQ in your sat nav. Pay and display parking is available on-site and at nearby Cromford Wharf and Cromford Meadows. Spaces can fill up on busy weekends, so arriving early is recommended.
By Train
The nearest station is Cromford, served by regular East Midlands Railway services between Derby and Matlock. The station is around a 5–10 minute walk from Cromford Mills, making it one of the easiest ways to reach the event.
By Bus
Bus services stop close to Cromford Mills, including the TransPeak and 6.1 routes, with connections from Derby, Matlock, Bakewell, Buxton, Chesterfield and surrounding areas. The bus stops are just a short walk from the venue entrance.
Accessibility
Accessible parking is available near the main entrance. Please note that Cromford Mills is a historic site, with some areas featuring cobbled and rolled limestone surfaces that may be uneven.

Otaku World Derby
Otaku World is passionate team that envisions bringing all anime and Japanese enthusiast together under one roof. Our first steps in achieving this was the opening of our anime store in Derby, it has proved very successful. Our second step towards our goal was the introduction of our anime event, Otaku Link.
Otaku Link’s foundation is built upon the idea of giving anime fans a place to relax and enjoy everything anime has to offer. We are different then other conventions as we have constructed the event in a way that promotes social interaction. Otaku Link is better described as an anime club, where attendees are actively engaged in activities based around Anime thus creating long lasting friendships and an inclusive community. We are now taking the third step in our adventure by incorporating the vast array of other parts of Japanese culture, this brings us to Japan Fest.
