Leicester Taiko brings the thunderous energy of traditional Japanese taiko drumming to audiences across the UK. Led by Kate and Sam.
Combining cultural tradition with modern rhythms, their mission is to unite communities through music while showcasing the exhilarating power, precision, and joy of taiko drumming.

Gaku Shi Juku Kendo Kai
Gaku Shi Juku Kendo kai was established in 1993 and has a long history within Leicester, originally it was started by Frank and Liz Dutton. On their departure to further reaches of the planet they left the club in the hands of Alex.
The dojo was originally named by sensei Hashiba from Shinjuku Kendo Renmei in Tokyo who was a hachidan hanshi and had been blind in one eye most of his life. The only time he ever traveled oversees in his life was at the age of 86 when he came to UK.

Brian Beacock
Brian Beacock is a U.S.-based on-camera and voice actor, writer, producer, and musician with a career across animation, video games, television, film, and theatre. He is best known for voice roles in major titles such as Digimon, Danganronpa, Naruto, Bleach, Dragon Ball Super, and JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure. His on-screen credits include CSI and Kath & Kim, as well as films like Mulholland Drive. A seasoned stage performer, he has toured nationally with Les Misérables and appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and The Conan O’Brien Show. Brian will be joining us at Japan Fest Leicester!

Aki Kitagawa
Aki Kitagawa is a koto player based in Nottingham. He plays the Ikuta-ryu koto and is a member of Sawai Koto Institute. His repertoire of music include both Japanese classical that gives a delicate atmosphere, and modern music that are upbeat and occasionally intense.
He actively collaborates with musicians from the UK and across Europe to explore the possibility of koto and outreach to wider music communities.
